This consultation is brief, but helps ensure you and your therapist are on the same page for your health history and massage needs.
What Should You Expect Your First Time?
- Arrive 10 minutes early
- Fill out some paperwork
- Answer a few health history and physical needs questions
- Ask your therapist any questions or concerns you have about your session
- Bring things like music and headphones to customize your experience
Your initial massage consultation is included in your first new client visit.
Yes, all therapists at Healing Arts Therapeutic Massage are licensed.
Yes, please tell your therapist about any medications you may take. In addition, let your therapist know about any acute or chronic health issues before your massage.
We understand that appointments may need to be cancelled—even at the last minute. Please call us as soon as you realize you need to adjust your appointment time. We appreciate your assistance in helping others experience the healing art of massage.
A 4-hour minimum cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged for a previously scheduled session. Repeat no-shows and last minute cancellations cost our therapists earning opportunities. Healing Arts and Therapeutic Massage reserves the right to require prepayment and/or refusal of service if the Cancellation Policy is not followed. Your respect is appreciated.
We want you to be comfortable during your massage. You will be under sheets and blankets during the massage and may discuss your comfort level with your therapist during your appointment.
All of our sessions typically involve massage on skin using oils, creams, or lotions.
There are some insurance companies that will reimburse for massage. Some people may be able to use their cafeteria plan or health savings account (HSA). We are happy to provide receipts or statements for you. However, Healing Arts Therapeutic Massage will not file insurance claims on behalf of a client.
The best compliment you may give is to schedule your next massage with one of our therapists at Healing Arts Therapeutic Massage. Tips are always appreciated. Clients who choose to thank us in this way often choose to tip $5-$15 or 15-20% of the total services provided.
